Agó Páez will make a replica of a mural made by his father, Carlos Páez Vilaró, in the old terminal of the Laguna del Sauce Airport of Punta del Este in 1983.

Mural by Carlos Páez Vilaró recreated at the Laguna del Sauce International Airport.
Between December 14 and 19, the artist Agó Páez will carry out the recreation of a pictorial work of her father that was made in 1983 in the old airport facilities.
The reproduction of the work will take place in the new air terminal with the aim of exposing to the public a work by this emblematic artist from Maldonado and an exponent of Uruguay in the international arena.
Already in 2018 the arrivals hall of the airport was baptized with the name of Carlos Páez Vilaró in memory and recognition of his outstanding figure.
Alejandro Rivero, general manager of the airport, highlighted the importance of preserving this valuable work that is part of the country's cultural heritage.
“This is an excellent way to bring national art closer to international tourists who come across the mural when passing through Laguna del Sauce, and to show just a sample of the trajectory of someone so relevant to Uruguayans, such as Carlos Páez Vilaró”, Rivero said.
